Job summary

The Southern Poverty Law Center seeks a Program Manager for the Center for Advocacy & Learning who is passionate about social justice and experienced in curriculum design, adult learning, and train-the-trainer programs. You will shape place-based curricula for Alabama communities, empower advocates, and build leadership across local partners.

Lead engaging workshops, recruit and support trainers, and coordinate with multiple teams to ensure high-quality delivery, equity, and measurable impact

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years in community education, program management, coalition and group facilitation, or related field, including direct experience designing curriculum or training programs; and
  • Strong ability to translate policy and issues into accessible, actionable content for diverse audiences
  • Experience designing and delivering trainings with a train-the-trainer approach and facilitating with confidence and consistency
  • Demonstrated commitment to SPLC's mission, vision and values and collaborating across teams

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and refine the Institute's organizing, advocacy, and leadership development curriculum for Alabama communities
  • Develop and facilitate workshops, trainings, and leadership opportunities for cohorts and community partners
  • Build and lead a train-the-trainer program with standardized facilitation tools and materials
  • Identify, recruit, coordinate, and support trainers, guest speakers, and subject matter experts
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing engagement of cohort members and alumni network
  • Collaborate with leadership and departments to align initiatives with organizational priorities and partnerships
  • Perform other duties within the scope of the role
