Job summary

LyondellBasell is seeking an experienced Machinery Maintenance Specialist for the La Porte Complex in Texas. You will drive diagnosis, inspection, repair and start‑up of rotating equipment, and lead root‑cause analyses to implement corrective actions, mentoring technicians and shaping maintenance procedures.

Qualifications include 10+ years in rotating equipment within refining or petrochemical environments, strong pumps/turbines knowledge, and proficiency with SAP, Word and Excel.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; formal training preferred (Millwright/Industrial mechanic).
• Minimum of 10 years rotating equipment experience in refining or petrochemical industries.
• Strong knowledge of pumps, compressors, and turbines; familiarity with applicable codes and standards.
• Proficient computer skills; SAP, Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Outstanding troubleshooting and decision‑making skills to implement corrective actions.
• Strong communication and demonstrated leadership skills to work across org levels.

Responsibilities

• Drive improvements in diagnosis, inspection, repair and start‑up of plant machinery.
• Provide root‑cause analysis and corrective action plans for underperforming equipment.
• Mentor technicians, develop and deliver technical training, and craft procedures for compliance and best practices.
• Assist in skill assessment of maintenance staff.
• Develop long‑term asset maintenance and reliability programs; participate in Reliability Improvement Team.
