Job summary

SBA Communications seeks an Analytics Engineer to bridge data engineering and analytics, enriching data sources and building semantic models for self-service insights.

You will design and optimize pipelines for Fabric, Power BI, and Azure, ensure data quality and governance, and enable AI-ready data products with clear lineage.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in analytics engineering, strong SQL/DAX, and experience with modern data architectures and BI tooling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a data-related field or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years in analytics engineering, data modeling, or BI development.
• Strong SQL, DAX, Power BI proficiency; experience with semantic models and dataflows.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain semantic models and datasets for self-service analytics and AI consumption.
• Develop and optimize data pipelines for Fabric, Power BI, Azure, and Databricks.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure usability, accuracy, and compliance standards.
• Implement and manage row-level security (RLS) within semantic models.
• Develop testing and validation strategies for data transformations and outputs.
• Apply modular design, version control, and documentation to analytics workflows.
• Document business logic, data transformations, and model structures with metadata catalogs.
• Design automated data workflows and orchestration for model deployment and data availability.
• Coordinate with contractors and teams to align on data architecture and timelines.
• Promote self-service analytics by making data products intuitive and well documented.
• Other duties as required
