Overview

Location: Houston, TX (Hybrid – 3 days/week from office)

Duration: 12 month

We are looking for an Analytics Engineer who will bridge the gap between data engineering and data analytics by building reliable data models, transforming raw data into analytics-ready datasets, and enabling stakeholders to make data-driven decisions.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data models and transformation pipelines.
• Develop and manage analytics layers using tools like dbt, SQL, and data warehouses.
• Ensure data quality, accuracy, and consistency across reporting datasets.
• Collaborate with data engineers to optimize data ingestion and storage.
• Partner with data analysts and business teams to define metrics and KPIs.
• Build and maintain documentation for data models, transformations, and metrics.
• Implement best practices for version control, testing, and CI/CD in analytics workflows.
• Optimize queries and performance in cloud data warehouses.

Required Skills

• Strong proficiency in SQL.
• Experience with data transformation tools such as dbt.
• Hands-on experience with cloud data warehouses like Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or Azure Synapse.
• Experience with data modeling (star schema, dimensional modeling).
• Familiarity with Git and version control practices.
• Understanding of data quality frameworks and testing.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Python for data manipulation or automation.
• Experience with BI tools such as Looker, Tableau, Power BI, or Mode.
