Job summary

UTHealth Houston is seeking a senior-level RCM Financial Clearance Specialist II to lead complex insurance verification, obtain authorizations, and ensure accurate financial clearance before patient services.

The role requires strong Epic knowledge, collaboration with clinical and financial teams, and a commitment to compliant patient communication. This remote Texas-based position supports both new and established patients across UTHealth Houston's revenue cycle.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in healthcare financial clearance, insurance verification, or a related revenue cycle role.
• Experience resolving complex insurance cases.
• Epic experience preferred.
• Associate degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verify insurance benefits and obtain required authorizations and referrals to ensure financial clearance.
• Assist with accurate patient registration, eligibility, and authorization of services in Epic.
• Provide cost estimates and educate patients on financial responsibilities while maintaining compliance.
• Communicate with payers, providers, and patients to support financial clearance and scheduling.
• Identify and report trends in denials, payer issues, or workflow inefficiencies for improvement.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA and payer guidelines.
