Job summary

UW Medicine’s Finance Access Clearance Team (FACT) seeks a Financial Access Specialist 2 to deliver insurance clearance for inpatient and outpatient services. This 100% remote role supports a wide range of coverage areas and emphasizes accurate authorizations and courteous service.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience in a medical/healthcare office is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the insurance clearance process for facility and professional services.
• Verify patient eligibility and benefits; document progress in EPIC.
• Refer uninsured patients for Medicaid/Charity eligibility screening; obtain referrals or initiate authorization.
• Prepare fee estimates and discuss payment options with patients.
• Collect payments and process using the EPIC system.
• Explain limited benefits and out-of-pocket costs to patients.
