Job summary

Headstart Health is seeking an experienced RCM Billing Lead to own day-to-day billing operations and drive the function as we grow. This remote, full-time role focuses on end-to-end claims management, denials handling, and analytics to improve performance.

You'll lead billing teams or partners, work hands-on when needed, and build dashboards and reporting to communicate health of the billing operation. Compensation is $60,000–$80,000 per year.

Qualifications

• Several years of hands-on medical billing and claims experience.
• Strong knowledge of denials, appeals, AR follow-up, and payer escalation.
• Experience leading billing teams, offshore teams, or external partners.
• Willingness and ability to work claims while leading the broader operation.
• Experience building dashboards, scorecards, or productivity reporting.
• Interest in using AI tools as part of daily work.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day billing operations and overall claim health.
• Perform hands-on claims work for complex or high-impact cases.
• Lead strategy across denials, appeals, aging AR, and payer follow-up.
• Prioritize work based on dollars, aging, risk, and provider impact.
• Ensure performance and accountability across internal teams and partners.
• Develop dashboards and productivity reporting for the billing operation.
