Actalent is seeking a hands-on AI Engineer to optimize an existing RAG application built in Azure AI Foundry. The environment is in place and ~80% functional, with a focus on rapidly improving retrieval accuracy and response quality.

The role is contract-based and fully remote, with Denver, CO as the working locale considerations. Pay ranges from $65.00 to $85.00 per hour, plus standard benefits where eligible.

Qualifications

• Experience building or tuning production RAG solutions with large technical docs.

Responsibilities

• Optimize existing Azure AI Foundry RAG pipelines.
• Improve retrieval accuracy, ranking, and context selection.
• Tune ingestion, chunking, metadata, indexing, and search strategies.
• Improve vector/semantic search performance.
• Optimize prompts and context strategies for first-response accuracy.
• Test results against real-world customer support use cases.
• Address backlog and deliver enhancements quickly.
