Job summary

Expert Radiology is seeking a Medical Documentation Specialist / Medical Transcriptionist for a remote role in the United States. The position emphasizes strong medical terminology knowledge, excellent typing, and the ability to train for near full-time hours during onboarding, with eventual scheduling flexibility based on needs.

Training is conducted Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM EST, with potential for continued remote work across North America.

Qualifications

• Near full-time onboarding and training Mon–Fri 9:00 AM–5:00 PM EST
• Must not be currently employed full-time elsewhere and must be able to dedicate to training
• Strong medical terminology knowledge, anatomy, procedures, and treatments
• Medical transcription experience preferred but not required; strong terminology/healthcare experience encouraged
• Radiology transcription experience a plus but not required
• Comfortable learning new software, RamSoft/InScribe/Fluency/Infinitt or similar
• Strong typing speed with high accuracy
• Reliable Windows PC, high-speed internet, good headset and foot pedal
• Adaptable in a fast-paced environment with deadlines
• Ability to multitask and work independently

Responsibilities

• Transcribe medical reports, summaries, and other documents from recorded dictation
• Review and edit reports for accuracy, formatting, grammar, and terminology
• Use foot pedals, macros, and text expansion software efficiently
• Communicate with medical staff when clarification is needed
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
• Meet productivity and quality expectations while working independently
