Job summary

Eikon Research Inc. is seeking a Radar Software Engineer for Huntsville, AL or remote work with periodic on-site visits. The role focuses on developing software for ground-based radar systems, from signal processing to tracking algorithms, with strong C++ and networking skills.

The ideal candidate will work with embedded systems, FPGAs, and distributed architectures, contributing to tests, documentation, and Agile processes. U.S. citizenship and DoD clearance readiness are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in computer science or engineering-related field or 5+ years experience in lieu of a degree.
• US Citizenship required with active DoD Secret Clearance or ability to obtain one.
• 5+ years experience with C++11+ (ARM/x86-64), practical Linux usage, Git/GitLab.

Responsibilities

• Develop radar software from low-level signal processing to high-level tracking algorithms; targets may include virtual machines and embedded systems.
• Interface with embedded systems, microcontrollers, and FPGAs; develop test tools and utilities for firmware testing.
• Develop unit and integration tests for new and existing codebases; document code and designs.
• Develop new functionalities using distributed message frameworks and message passing; enhance radar UI interactions.
• Write documentation in-code and in PowerPoint/Word for product docs; improve performance of existing code.
• Participate in Agile practices: daily standups, sprints, and reviews; use Git, GitLab, Jira, and Doxygen.
• Flexibly assist on other projects at Eikon; may code in C++/C, Java, MATLAB, or JavaScript.
