Job summary

Leonardo DRS is seeking a Software Engineer I/II to design, develop, test, and sustain mission-critical software for advanced radar systems. This on-site role in Germantown, MD focuses on C/C++ development, real-time and system-level software with opportunities to grow technical ownership over time.

Ideal candidates have strong software fundamentals, are curious, and can learn complex defense domains. U.S. citizenship is required and a DoD security clearance may be needed in the future.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or related field or equivalent experience.
For Software Engineer I: entry-level candidates welcome (internships, academic projects).
For Software Engineer II: at least two years of relevant software engineering experience.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, debug, and maintain software for radar systems.
Implement C/C++ features from requirements and architecture.
Contribute to radar-system application software with multithreaded, timing-sensitive operation.
Troubleshoot and resolve software issues with guidance from senior engineers.
Collaborate with software, systems, hardware, integration, and test teams.
