Job summary

Campbell Soup Company is seeking an R&D Scientist I to drive product development from concept through commercialization. You will coordinate with Marketing, CCID, Supply Chain, Quality, and Engineering to define milestones, run pilot scale trials, and set specifications that meet consumer expectations.

The role emphasizes process understanding, scale-up activities, and strong technical problem solving within a cross-functional team environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Food Science or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of food product development experience.
• Experience in shelf-stable processing and product commercialization.

Responsibilities

• With minimal supervision, develop and manage technical timelines and activities for multiple product development projects.
• Lead product development projects from concept to commercialization based on product design criteria and consumer insights.
• Work with Process R&D and Engineering to define ingredient handling & blending equipment requirements and set up production trials accordingly.
• Lead trials in pilot plant and manufacturing locations, including co-packers, to assess feasibility and define finished product specifications.
• Establish and maintain shelf-life studies and lead benchmarking activities with Mind the Gap studies.
