Job summary

Campbell Soup Company is seeking an R&D Scientist I to drive product development across Thermal/Frozen Soup & Broth, Italian, and Everyday Pantry Essentials portfolios. You will lead back-end commercialization handoffs to manufacturing, optimize margins, and improve processing methods with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Food Science or related field is required.
• 2 years of food product development experience desired; internships or contractor roles count toward experience.
• Nice to have: experience developing and commercializing shelf-stable products in manufacturing.
• Project management and prioritization of multiple projects while adapting to changing directions.
• Creative problem-solving skills and ability to work with ambiguity; strong data interpretation and recommendations.
• Strong communication, cross-functional collaboration, and proficiency with lab practices and scaling up processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage technical timelines for multiple product development projects with minimal supervision.
• Provide technical guidance to PD teams as it relates to product design and manufacturing.
• Lead trials in pilot plant and production settings to define finished product specs.
• Incorporate consumer test results into prototype formulation and optimization.
• Translate insights into scalable processes and cost/Nutrition targets.
• Communicate project risks and recommendations to cross-functional partners.
