Job summary

ICON Strategic Solutions is seeking a Manager, R&D Business Operations to lead PO workflows in Ariba/SAP and align procurement with contract terms across R&D functions.

You will collaborate with R&D, Finance, and Sourcing to ensure timely PO issuance, budget tracking, and compliance with controls. This role offers remote work, career growth, and exposure to global sponsor partnerships in the biopharma space.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum 5+ years in pharma/biotech ops, procurement, finance, or contract-to-PO.
• Experience creating and managing POs in enterprise systems (SAP/Ariba).
• Strong understanding of procure-to-pay processes and budget tracking.
• Cross-functional collaboration with R&D, Finance, Sourcing, Legal, AP.

Responsibilities

• Create, generate, and manage purchase orders in Ariba/SAP after contract execution.
• Translate contract terms into PO structures and funding allocations.
• Review agreements for proper financial setup and budgeting.
• Process PO changes, amendments, and closures per contract modifications.
• Monitor PO lifecycle, invoice matching, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and delegation policies.
• Train partners on requisition and PO processes; guide system requirements.
• Generate reports and dashboards on PO cycle times and spend.
