Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking a QA Engineer/SDET to join a remote, contract-based engagement serving government clients. The role emphasizes CI/CD-driven automated testing, AI-assisted test-script generation, and security/compliance validation across cloud-native Java services.

Candidates should have strong Linux, Java, and containerized workloads experience, plus expertise with AWS, OpenShift, and modern QA tooling. US citizenship and Public Trust clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Test automation at scale with QA standards and systems.
• CI/CD-integrated automated testing with GitLab, Tekton, or Argo CD.
• AI-assisted testing for coding, requirements, test creation, debugging, and analysis.
• Hands-on with Playwright, JUnit/TestNG, REST and contract testing, and performance testing.
• Container and Kubernetes test harnesses across ECS, EKS, OpenShift.
• Security and compliance testing, including SAST/DAST/SCA/IaC scanning and policy-as-code.
• Experience in AWS with multi-account/VPC patterns.
• On-prem to AWS migration for containerized workloads and data tiers.
• FISMA High and FedRAMP High practices, STIGs, and NIST 800-53 controls.
• Linux proficiency and Java-based application environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging in cloud and lab environments.
• Effective communication within Scaled Agile teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform software testing across unit, integration, end-to-end, performance, and security domains.
• Develop test plans and create automated test scripts integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
• Lead AI-driven test-script generation and maintenance using modern AI tooling.
• Debug software issues, analyze failures, and determine root causes.
• Execute feature testing for cloud-native Java services on ECS, EKS, and OpenShift.
• Validate environments across Dev, Test, and Ops and manage lab setups.
• Integrate security and compliance testing, including SAST, DAST, and control validation.
• Collaborate directly with developers within Agile teams.
• Support continuous monitoring and evidence generation for ATO.
