Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking a QA Engineer/SDET for a contract role focusing on CI/CD‑integrated automated testing, AI-assisted test generation, and security/compliance validation across Linux and cloud environments. Remote-friendly with federal security clearance requirements; on-site options may apply in Ashburn, VA or Gaithersburg, MD.

Qualifications

• Test automation at scale with QA standards and systems.
• CI/CD-integrated automated testing using GitLab, Tekton, or Argo CD.
• AI-assisted testing for coding, requirements, test creation, debugging, and analysis.
• Hands-on with Playwright, JUnit/TestNG, REST and contract testing, and performance testing.
• Container and Kubernetes test harnesses across Amazon ECS, Amazon EKS, and Red Hat OpenShift.
• Security and compliance testing, including SAST/DAST/SCA/IaC scanning and policy-as-code.
• Experience in AWS, including multi-account/VPC patterns and segmentation.
• On-prem to AWS migration experience for containerized workloads and data tiers.
• FISMA High and FedRAMP High practices, STIGs, and NIST 800-53 controls.
• Linux proficiency and experience with Java-based application environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging in cloud and lab environments.
• Effective communication within Scaled Agile teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform software testing across unit, integration, end-to-end, performance, and security domains.
• Develop test plans and create automated test scripts integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
• Lead AI-driven test-script generation and maintenance using modern AI tooling.
• Debug software issues, analyze failures, and determine root causes.
• Execute feature testing for cloud-native Java services on ECS, EKS, and OpenShift.
• Validate environments across Dev, Test, and Ops and manage lab setups.
• Integrate security and compliance testing, including SAST, DAST, and control validation.
• Collaborate directly with developers within Agile teams.
• Support continuous monitoring and evidence generation for ATO.
