Job summary

System One, Inc. is seeking a Software QA / Test Automation Engineer for contract roles (Mid and Senior). Position is 100% remote with local to MD, VA, DC, 40 hours/week, W-2 only.

FAA end client with strict security requirements and citizenship with Public Trust is needed. Responsibilities include designing and maintaining automated testing frameworks, implementing AI-driven test generation, and validating Java-based cloud apps across AWS and OpenShift in a SAFe environment.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in software quality assurance and automated testing.
• Hands-on experience developing automated test scripts and frameworks.
• Experience with AI-driven test generation or AI-assisted testing tools.
• Experience with testing tools such as Playwright, JUnit, TestNG, or similar frameworks.
• Experience with API testing, REST services, integration testing, and performance testing.
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with Java-based applications, microservices, and containerized environments.
• Experience testing cloud-native applications deployed on AWS ECS, EKS, or OpenShift.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated testing frameworks and QA standards.
• Implement automated unit, integration, API, and end-to-end testing within CI/CD pipelines.
• Develop and maintain AI-driven test-script generation capabilities to improve testing efficiency and coverage.
• Perform feature and functional testing of Java-based cloud applications deployed across AWS ECS, EKS, and OpenShift.
• Validate application functionality across Development, Test, and Operations environments.
• Conduct security and compliance testing, including SAST/DAST integration and FISMA High control validation.
• Support continuous monitoring, ATO documentation, and testing evidence requirements.
• Collaborate with software developers, cloud engineers, and DevSecOps teams to identify and resolve defects.
