Outlier is seeking a QA Coder to help train AI models by reviewing AI-generated code and scoring model responses. You will develop prompts and contribute to improving code-generation capabilities while working on diverse projects.

The role is remote, freelance (1099), with flexible hours and compensation up to $34/hr plus incentive payments based on project needs and performance. Applicants from multiple locations are considered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or higher from a selective institution.
• Software engineering experience contributing to a live production codebase, ideally for a technology company.
• Ability to articulate complex concepts fluently in written and spoken English.
• Excellent attention to detail, including grammar, punctuation and style guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Review AI-generated code and flag errors, inconsistencies, or quality issues using structured guidelines.
• Rate and rank model responses across accuracy, instruction-following, and presentation to improve outputs.
• Write clear, well-structured computer science questions to challenge AI models.
