Job summary

Outlier is seeking QA Coders to help train AI models by reviewing AI-generated code, ranking model responses, and crafting clear CS prompts. This remote, freelance role pays up to $34 USD per hour and includes performance incentives.

You’ll join a diverse team auditing code with real engineering impact and flexible hours. Applicants from multiple regions are welcome; prior CS degree and live production code experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from a selective institution.
• Software engineering experience contributing to a live production codebase, ideally for a technology company.
• Ability to articulate complex concepts fluently in written and spoken English.
• Excellent attention to detail, including grammar, punctuation, and style guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Review AI-generated code: read and flag errors, inconsistencies, or quality issues using structured guidelines.
• Rate and rank model responses: score outputs across key dimensions to improve model output.
• Write computer science questions: develop clear prompts to challenge AI models and advance coding ability.
