Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a QA Automation Engineer with Playwright and AI experience to drive quality assurance initiatives by developing and enhancing automation frameworks, API test solutions, and testing practices. You will collaborate with onshore and offshore QA teams, developers, product owners, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions in a remote-friendly setup.

Qualifications

6+ years of Software Quality Assurance experience including automation testing.
Proven experience building/maintaining automation frameworks using Playwright with JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or Python.
Strong hands-on experience in functional testing, test case design, execution, and defect management.
Experience developing and maintaining API automation suites using Rest Assured (Java).
Hands-on experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
Experience leading or coordinating testing efforts across offshore and onshore teams.
Strong knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies and defect tracking tools (Azure DevOps).
Proven experience implementing Agentic AI solutions in testing environments.

Responsibilities

Lead design, development, maintenance, and enhancement of the Playwright automation framework.
Review/approve automation scripts, test cases, and defect reports to ensure quality.
Build and maintain API automation suites for critical services (Rest Assured).
Coordinate daily activities for offshore QA teams and remove roadblocks.
Drive functional testing activities including planning, execution, and release validation.
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support efficient delivery.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve testing strategies and release outcomes.
Leverage Agentic AI to improve testing efficiency and quality gains.
