Job summary

Indus River Technologies Inc. is seeking a skilled QA Tester for the Connecticut CJIS project. The role involves system testing, UAT, and validation against requirements for the Connecticut Information Sharing System (CISS).

You will organize test cases, manage defects, and contribute to automation efforts. Work includes remote teleworking with in-person meetings as needed, typical CJIS governance context, and collaboration with a cross-functional team to ensure certification and security

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Technology, exposure to programming in 3rd generation languages and knowledge of software design patterns.
• 5 to 7 years of experience as a tester for IT projects; experience in NIEM XML or another complex XML Standard.
• Experience with testing web services manually using SoapUI/Postman; working knowledge of IBM Rational Jazz Suite is a plus; ability to trace problems to their source in a large system.
• Experience with SOA technologies and scripting complex SQL queries (Microsoft SQL Server).
• Proficient in MS Excel; able to work cooperatively with team members including Team Leader/Manager, Developers, Testers, and Designers.
• Proficient in core programming languages — C# or Java; knowledge of automation reporting tools like Extent Reports; experience in data-driven automation testing; knowledge of GitHub.

Responsibilities

• Creating test use cases, doing the testing, creating the test results reports, and implementing the testing needed by the project managers.
• Providing documented processes to the testing team in the implementation of the required testing.
• Supporting the resolution of defects found during testing and providing general testing process consultation to the project team.
• Working on testing activities for new releases for the CJIS team and CJIS stakeholders.
• Developing presentations for stakeholders, officials, and other interested parties when requested by the Management; reporting test results and documenting defects to the test lead; entering defects in defect management tool.
• Ability to validate Traceability Matrix to contractual requirements.
• Ability to handle the full lifecycle of automation framework development.
• Collaborate on the architecture and expansion of the automation framework.
• Ability to maintain automation test suite and integrate to DevOps.
