Job summary

Tech Observer is seeking a QA/Test Engineer for a 12+ month contract in Hartford, CT, with a schedule of Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM. The role includes teleworking with occasional in-person meetings.

Responsibilities cover test case creation, execution, reporting, defect management, and supporting CJIS project testing. The candidate should have a BS in Computer Technology and 5–7 years of IT testing experience, plus strong skills in SOA, NIEM XML, SQL, C# or Java, and automation tooling such

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Technology required.
• 5–7 years tester experience for IT projects.
• Experience with NIEM XML or other complex XML standards.
• Manual web service testing using SoapUI/Postman; knowledge of IBM Rational Jazz is a plus.
• SOA technologies experience.
• SQL queries (Microsoft SQL Server).
• Proficient in MS Excel; team collaboration with developers, testers, designers.
• Programming languages C# or Java; automation reporting with Extent Reports; GitHub knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Create test use cases, perform testing, produce test results reports.
• Document processes for the testing team implementation.
• Support defect resolution and provide testing process consultation.
• Perform testing activities for new releases for CJIS team and stakeholders.
• Develop presentations for management and stakeholders; document defects in defect tool.
• Validate Traceability Matrix to contractual requirements.
• Lead automation framework lifecycle development and maintenance.
• Collaborate on automation framework architecture and expansion.
• Maintain automation test suite and integrate with DevOps.
