Job summary

The Connecticut Information Sharing System (CISS) seeks a seasoned QA tester for system and UAT testing with strong SQL, GitHub, and automation skills. The role covers test case creation, defect resolution, and reporting, supporting CJIS projects in a hybrid setup with occasional in-person meetings in Connecticut.

Desired candidates have 5–7 years testing IT projects, experience with XML standards like NIEM, and proficiency in C# or Java.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Computer Technology or equivalent.
• 5–7 years of IT testing experience.
• Experience with NIEM XML or similar XML standards.
• Experience testing web services (SoapUI / Postman).
• Familiarity with IBM Rational Jazz Suite is a plus.
• Ability to trace problems in a large integrated system.
• Proficiency in SQL queries on Microsoft SQL Server.
• Proficient with Excel for data analysis.
• Strong automation and reporting tool knowledge (Extent Reports).
• GitHub proficiency and collaboration with teams.

Responsibilities

• Create test use cases, perform tests, generate test results reports.
• Document testing processes for the team and project managers.
• Support defect resolution and testing process guidance.
• Work on testing activities for new releases for CJIS stakeholders.
• Develop presentations on test results for management.
• Log defects in the defect management tool and track fixes.
• Validate Traceability Matrix against contractual requirements.
• Contribute to automation framework development and expansion.
• Maintain automation test suite and integrate with DevOps.
