Job summary

UST is seeking a Python Full Stack Developer to join our Cloud Platform Engineering team, supporting migration of on-prem batch processing to AWS. This role goes beyond lift-and-shift—refactoring legacy PERL scripts into modern Python services.

You will design and maintain full-stack apps (Python backend, web frontend), re-architect workflows for AWS-native services, and write automated tests while collaborating on pipelines and cutover sequencing.

Qualifications

• Python development experience building production applications and scripts.
• Experience with batch/ETL patterns: scheduling, error handling, retries, idempotency.
• Experience building backend and frontend interfaces (React, Vue, or similar).
• Experience designing and consuming REST APIs and refactoring PERL scripts.

Responsibilities

• Refactor and migrate legacy on-prem batch jobs (PERL) into Python-based AWS services.
• Design, build, and maintain full-stack applications to monitor and operate batch jobs.
• Architect batch workflows using AWS-native services (Batch, Lambda, Step Functions).
• Write automated tests to validate refactored jobs match legacy results.
• Collaborate with cloud engineers on deployment pipelines and cutover sequencing.
