Talentoma is seeking a Purchasing Agent to support the full lifecycle of purchasing requests from intake to supplier communication and PO issuance. This remote, home-based role requires organizing requests, validating details, and coordinating with suppliers and internal teams in a fast-paced environment.

The position emphasizes accuracy, documentation, and timely follow-ups, with onboarding on SAP S/4HANA and LibreOffice Calc.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• No experience required; related experience is a plus.
• Interest in purchasing workflows and supplier coordination.
• Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA preferred.
• Ability to use LibreOffice Calc for data entry and tracking.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Monitor incoming purchasing requests from a shared queue, email messages, and internal workflow submissions, then acknowledge receipt and organize work by requested need date.
• Review requests for item descriptions, quantities, supplier details, delivery locations, and required internal approvals before moving them forward.
• Contact requesters by email or phone when information is incomplete, unclear, or inconsistent, and record clarifications in the request history.
• Search approved supplier information and request routine pricing, availability, and delivery estimates when needed for a complete purchasing request.
• Compare supplier responses against the request details and share straightforward findings with the requester or purchasing team lead for direction.
• Create and update purchasing entries in an enterprise resource planning system such as SAP S/4HANA, following established naming and routing practices.
• Prepare purchase orders for review, confirm that approved details are reflected correctly, and send finalized orders to suppliers through established channels.
• Record supplier confirmations, expected delivery dates, item substitutions, and requester updates using spreadsheets and data entry tools such as LibreOffice Calc.
• Follow up with suppliers or internal receiving contacts on overdue confirmations or changed delivery details, escalating unresolved issues to the purchasing team lead.
• Maintain organized request histories and status updates; quality is judged by accuracy, turnaround, complete notes, and timely follow-up.
