Job summary

GitLab is seeking a Professional Services Engineer to partner with public sector customers to adopt and expand GitLab across their organizations. You will deliver installations, migrations, training, and advisory engagements, from single-node Omnibus to large reference architectures using infrastructure-as-code.

You’ll balance hands-on delivery with clear communication and project ownership in a remote, largely asynchronous environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with infrastructure as code or configuration as code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Packer, Puppet, or Chef.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Professional Services engagements such as installation, migration, training, and advisory services to help customers achieve successful outcomes with GitLab.
• Plan and execute GitLab deployments across architectures using infrastructure as code and configuration as code practices.
• Oversee and perform migrations to GitLab SaaS or self-managed GitLab, reducing risk and ensuring smooth cutovers.
• Provide technical guidance across the GitLab feature stack to fit customer goals and environments.
• Partner with project managers and engagement managers to improve delivery consistency and schedules.
• Manage and deliver multiple customer projects while balancing outcomes with billable time and priorities.
• Mentor other engineers and contribute to repeatable delivery patterns.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to remove blockers and improve delivery processes.
