Job summary

Alphahire is seeking a contractor to plan and manage defined public-sector consulting workstreams from kickoff through final delivery. You will maintain alignment among scope, schedule, agency reviewers, and project deliverables, and convert agency interviews into review-ready drafts.

You will track decisions, coordinate specialists, and identify risks early, adjusting plans accordingly. Availability for occasional travel and experience with public-sector engagements are valued.

Qualifications

• Experience managing a public-sector study, system implementation, or multi-workstream engagement through delivery.
• Proven written deliverables delivered to an agency.
• Experience coordinating subject-matter specialists and agency staff.
• Ability to describe the agency, role, and outcome of at least two engagements.
• Available to work as a 1099, project-based collaborator.
• Willingness to travel to client sites occasionally.
• Experience with public-sector entities (cities, counties, schools, utilities, districts) preferred.
• Experience with classification, compensation, organizational, ERP, or grants engagements preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage defined public-sector consulting workstreams from kickoff through final delivery.
• Maintain alignment among scope, schedule, agency reviewers, and project deliverables.
• Convert agency interviews and source documents into review-ready drafts.
• Track decisions, open items, and supporting evidence for recommendations.
• Coordinate specialist contributors and accurately represent their work.
• Identify schedule, access, or project risks early and adjust plans accordingly.
• Contribute staffing approaches and past-performance narratives to proposals when authorized.
• Support consulting engagements for public agencies, including studies and implementations.
