Job summary

AlphaGov is seeking a Municipal Classification & Compensation Consultant to lead the civilian-workforce workstream on an active municipal study (City of Myrtle Beach, SC). This is a remote-first, 1099/project-based role with travel as needed for client on-sites.

Qualifications

• Must have leadership experience in municipal classification and compensation projects.
• Public-sector HR consulting background is required.
• Willingness to work as a 1099/project-based collaborator with travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead the civilian-workforce classification structure review (≈270 titles).
• Develop civilian pay-grade recommendations and implementation options.
• Conduct market benchmarking vs. peer municipalities.
• Present findings to project leadership and contribute to client-ready deliverables.
• Contribute to AlphaGov proposals with qualifications and past performance narratives when permitted.
