Job summary

AlphaGov is seeking a Municipal Classification & Compensation Consultant to lead the civilian-workforce workstream on an active municipal study (City of Myrtle Beach, SC — proposal due early October 2026). This remote-first engagement involves collaboration with clients and occasional on-site visits as needed.

You will review the classification structure, benchmark against peer municipalities, and develop pay-grade recommendations.

Qualifications

• Lead municipal classification and compensation workstreams for civilian workforce.
• Background in public-sector HR consulting and compensation studies.
• Willingness to travel for on-site client engagements as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead the civilian-workforce classification structure review (≈270 titles).
• Develop civilian pay-grade recommendations and implementation options.
• Conduct market benchmarking versus peer municipalities.
• Present findings to project leadership and contribute to client-ready deliverables.
• Contribute leadership qualifications and past-performance narratives to proposals when permissioned.
