Job summary

Axon is seeking a Director of Public Safety for Axon 911 to lead strategy, partnerships, and growth in public safety markets. You will shape product direction, engage with customers and key stakeholders, and manage the Public Safety team to deliver measurable value.

You will collaborate with Sales, Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Customer Success to align solutions with customer needs, drive adoption, and expand market presence across high-value public safety customers while guiding AI

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive leadership in public safety or PSAP operations.
• Deep expertise across PSAP operations, NG911, CAD, and evolving public safety technology trends.
• Proven ability to build trusted relationships with PSAP leaders and industry associations (NENA/APCO).
• Strong strategic leadership driving scalable programs, operational improvements, and cross-functional initiatives.
• Translate customer feedback, operational challenges, and market insights into actionable product, business, and GTM strategies.
• Strong communication, presentation, and customer engagement skills, including executive presentations and workshops.
• Collaborative, data-driven mindset with experience defining KPIs and measuring success in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead Axon 911's public safety strategy, strengthen industry partnerships (NENA/APCO), mentor the Public Safety team, and drive KPIs, scalability, innovation, and long-term growth.
• Partner closely with Sales, Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Customer Success to align solutions with customer needs, improve onboarding/training, and drive adoption across high-value public safety customers.
• Gather customer feedback to influence product enhancements, prioritize AI-related initiatives, coordinate early-access programs, and ensure solutions meet operational needs within public safety organizations.
• Support market expansion and deal strategy through industry expertise, customer relationships, speaking engagements, workshops, webinars, thought leadership, and strategic go-to-market initiatives.
• Optimize workflows and processes while driving measurable outcomes tied to customer satisfaction, retention, product adoption, strategic partnerships, lead generation, and cross-functional improvements.
