Job summary

Canonical is seeking a Public Cloud Project Manager to lead IT cloud programs for major accounts with a strong emphasis on Linux and open source technologies. You will drive project lifecycles, shape statements of work, and coordinate across engineering to executives, while traveling internationally as required.

Ideal candidates bring proven cloud project management experience, software engineering know-how, and stellar communication skills.

Qualifications

Proven background in IT Cloud industry as software development/project manager or scrum master.
Deep understanding of Linux, open source, and the public cloud space.
Software engineering experience and strong communication skills.
Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline.
Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

Ensure programs and projects are delivered within schedule, scope, cost, budget and resources.
Identify risks and issues and implement mitigating actions.
Maintain strong customer focus with stakeholders for successful outcomes.
Assist senior management with contract negotiations and SOW/RFI/RFP responses.
Conduct regular status meetings and business reviews with customers.
Manage delivery schedules for critical third-party deliverables.
Identify cross-organization engineering requests outside existing contracts.
Advocate Canonical technologies to customers.
