WSP USA seeks an experienced Transmission Planning Engineer (PSCAD Specialist) to join the ESSP team in Colorado with flexibility for remote work. You will perform EMT transmission studies, develop models, and tune PSCAD controls for assets and projects nationwide.

The role requires 7–10 years of EMT experience, PSCAD proficiency, and strong communication skills to collaborate with clients and internal teams. Colorado compensation info is provided with relocation not offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
• Engineer in Training Certification.
• 7 to 10 years of EMT transmission planning experience.
• PSCAD experience including complex controls interactions.
• Experience developing and tuning PSCAD models.
• Ability to work in a dynamic team environment with customer focus.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; resides in the United States.

Responsabilités

• Perform EMT work for network studies, generation and load interconnection tasks, and microgrid modeling.
• Develop generation, load, and asset models based on provided designs; use manufacturer models when applicable.
• Tune PSCAD models and controls to meet performance requirements.
• Develop controls for power plant, grid-following/forming resources, STATCOMs, and FACTS.
• Complete tasks per scope, schedule, and budget; prepare reports with findings.
• Mentor junior engineers and support transmission planning teams.
