Job summary

OpenAI in the United States is seeking a Protective Intelligence & Threat Analyst to identify and assess physical security risks to executives, personnel, facilities, and operations. You will leverage OSINT, investigative tools, and tactical intelligence to translate complex data into actionable protection recommendations.

This role requires a seasoned professional with experience in threat investigations, behavioral threat assessment, and risk management.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in protective intelligence, threat investigations, or related fields.
• Strong judgment to assess incomplete or ambiguous information, distinguish signal from noise, and communicate risk with context.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for concise, actionable intelligence.
• Experience assessing risks involving executives, events, or time-sensitive decisions.
• Technical proficiency with APIs, automation, Python, data platforms, and AI-enabled tools.
• Ability to operate independently in a small, distributed team.
• Familiarity with protective intelligence platforms like Ontic and threat methodologies like ATAP.
• Comfort supporting nights or weekends during significant incidents or crises.

Responsibilities

• Identify and investigate potential physical threats to OpenAI and assets using OSINT and investigative tools.
• Conduct POI and behavioral threat investigations and provide risk mitigation recommendations.
• Develop concise intelligence products and briefings for leadership and protective teams.
• Assess threats related to executive travel, events, and public appearances.
• Provide timely intelligence support to Protective Services and partners.
