Job summary

Aflac Columbus seeks a Proposal Writer II in Columbia, SC to support the Group Voluntary Benefits division. You will edit, draft, and format RFPs, proposals, and presentations with underwriters and sales teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent
• 2 years of work-related experience required
• Experience writing in a business environment preferred
• Insurance industry experience preferred
• Experience supporting a sales function preferred

Responsibilities

• With limited supervision, prepares high-quality, formal RFPs and proposals working with underwriters and sales professionals
• Underwrites renewals and reviews accounts based on financials, demographics, and past claims
• Researches and drafts responses to RFP questions to meet client requirements
• Coordinates with marketing and other divisions to enhance proposals and improve win rate
• Proofreads, edits, and validates contractual documentation and proposals for accuracy and persuasiveness
• Creates graphics and prepares comprehensive presentations from gathered data
• Maintains archives of proposal documents and data
• Provides research support and reports to management
• Resolves questions from sales teams and prioritizes workload to meet deadlines
• Assists in risk analysis for new business opportunities with underwriters
