Job summary

MPI is a privately held construction firm delivering federal, state, and municipal projects across New England and the East Coast. This role focuses on identifying opportunities, leading bid development, and delivering accurate cost estimates for government and commercial projects.

The successful candidate will coordinate with leadership, manage the proposal process, and build relationships with subcontractors and suppliers while supporting preconstruction efforts and providing estimating

Qualifications

• 8+ years of estimating or senior estimating experience within the construction industry.
• Proven experience preparing bids, estimates, and proposals for commercial and/or public sector projects.
• Government, federal, military, VA, or public sector project experience is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and procurement processes.
• Experience identifying new project opportunities and supporting business development efforts.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and/or Primavera P6.
• Excellent written communication and proposal-writing skills.
• Self-motivated professional capable of working independently in a remote environment.

Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate federal, state, municipal, and commercial project opportunities for pursuit.
• Lead the development of competitive proposals, bids, and estimating packages.
• Review plans, specifications, and contract documents to prepare accurate cost estimates.
• Coordinate with internal leadership and operations teams on bid strategy and project pursuits.
• Manage the proposal process from opportunity identification through final submission.
• Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and industry partners.
• Prepare scheduling assumptions and project timelines using scheduling software.
• Support preconstruction efforts and provide estimating expertise to executive leadership.
