Responsibilities

  • Review project plans, specifications, geotechnical reports, and bid documents.
  • Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs for earthwork, utilities, paving, drainage, and site development scopes.
  • Develop accurate cost estimates for labor, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing.
  • Identify project risks, opportunities, and value engineering solutions.
  • Maintain and update estimating databases, cost histories, and pricing information.
  • Prepare bid proposals, bid packages, and supporting documentation.
  • Collaborate with project managers and operations teams during bid reviews and project hand-offs.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client meetings as required.
  • Assist in budget development and conceptual estimating for negotiated work.
  • Monitor market trends and material pricing to ensure accurate project forecasting.
  • Support business development efforts by helping secure profitable new projects.

Civil Estimator will prepare accurate and competitive estimates for site development, utility, excavation, and civil construction projects throughout New Jersey and surrounding markets. This individual will play a critical role in securing new work by analysing project documents, developing detailed cost estimates, and collaborating with operations teams to ensure successful project execution.
