We are looking for a highly skilled fire protection engineer with broad experience in the design and review of fire alarm and fire sprinkler systems, as well as performance-based alternative design solutions. You will guide projects to meet or exceed NFPA, ICC, and local codes while addressing complex fire protection challenges.
You will lead and mentor our team of engineers, supporting their professional growth and ensuring high-quality work. Your leadership will shape the next generation of fire protection specialists.
Strategic Project Oversight
You will manage multiple large-scale projects from inception to completion, ensuring technical accuracy, client satisfaction, and project efficiency.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
Acting as a trusted expert, you will interface directly with clients, Authorities Having Jurisdiction, architects, contractors, and stakeholders, delivering tailored fire protection solutions across diverse industries.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead technical execution and management of fire protection engineering tasks from concept to project close-out.
- Oversee the design of fire alarm, fire sprinkler, smoke control systems, and fire-rated assemblies.
- Conduct and review fire hazard analyses, code research, hydraulic calculations, and risk assessments.
- Coordinate with project stakeholders, ensuring compliance with NFPA, IBC, and local codes adopted in the jurisdiction.
- Review and approve engineering documents, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
- Provide mentorship, leadership, and quality oversight to engineers at all levels.
- Conduct site visits, installation reviews, and commissioning support to ensure installed fire protection systems function as intended.
- Contribute to the development of advanced methodologies and maintain expertise in emerging technologies.
- Expertise in fire protection engineering principles, codes, and standards.
- Proven ability to lead and manage large, complex fire protection projects.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and fire modeling software (FDS, Pathfinder, etc.) preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging clients, team members, and stakeholders.
- Ability to thrive in a remote work environment while fostering team collaboration.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field (Chemical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering with a fire protection focus,
- Professional Engineering (PE) License in Fire Protection required.
- 10+ years of experience in fire protection engineering with demonstrated leadership experience.
- Background in managing projects in manufacturing, warehousing and distribution centers, healthcare, commercial buildings, industrial facilities, or data centers.
- Strong technical foundation with a focus on innovation and detail-oriented execution.

- Competitive compensation and benefits – The base salary range for this role is $125,000–$155,000, based on years of applicable experience, professional licensure (PE preferred), engineering level assigned through our internal evaluation process, plus significant bonus potential, professional development support, and opportunities for leadership advancement.
