Job summary

American Family Insurance is seeking a property claim professional to investigate origin and cause, review coverages, conduct on-site inspections, and settle homeowner claims. The role covers moderately complex 1st and 3rd party claims within roughly 2 hours of Cleveland, Ohio, with a focus on Lorain, Vermilion, and southwest Cleveland areas.

Qualifications

• Hands-on property field claims experience required.
• Ability to write clear, accurate estimates in Xactimate.
• Solid knowledge of homeowner policies and endorsements.

Responsibilities

• Investigate origin and cause of claims by contacting insureds, claimants, agents, attorneys, contractors, and other parties.
• Handle both 1st party and 3rd party claims under multiple policy types.
• Conduct on-site inspections when needed and negotiate settlements with insureds and claimants.
