Job summary

Design Hire seeks an experienced remote Project Manager to lead commercial fire protection projects from award through closeout. You will ensure safety, on-time delivery, and budget discipline while coordinating with customers, field teams, vendors, and internal departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in CM, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years PM experience in commercial construction.
• Strong financial acumen with budgeting/forecasting.
• Experience overseeing multiple projects concurrently.
• Ability to read/interpret construction drawings and specs.
• Estimating experience required.
• Strong scheduling and planning experience.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Experience with fire protection, sprinkler systems, mechanical contracting, plumbing or MEP projects preferred.
• Experience with Patabid is desirable; Accumatica is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple commercial construction projects from kickoff to completion.
• Own project budgets, forecasting, billing, cost tracking, profitability, and financial reporting.
• Build and maintain detailed project schedules with milestones.
• Coordinate engineering, design, fabrication, procurement, field operations, subcontractors, and customers.
• Review drawings and fire protection plans to ensure execution.
• Lead project meetings and communicate progress, risks, and financial performance.
• Identify schedule, labor, or budget issues and implement corrective action.
• Hold field teams accountable for productivity, quality, safety, and schedule.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, closeout documentation, and communications.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA standards, OSHA regulations, local codes, and customer specs.
