Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Project Cost Controls Analyst to deliver data-driven financial and strategic analysis that supports decision-making, performance tracking, and forecasting across projects. The role involves building cost forecasts, leading monthly reporting, ensuring SOX compliance, and translating complex data into executive-ready insights to guide project decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or related analytical field.
• 1–3 years of experience in project controls, FP&A, or data-driven roles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Power BI, Python, and/or SQL is highly preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured modeling approach.
• Excellent communicator who can translate data into business terms for senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain project-level cost forecasts with cross-functional teams.
• Lead monthly cost reporting, variance analyses, and executive-ready insights.
• Assist with SOX compliance and internal controls over financial reporting.
• Develop analytics models to forecast future project costs from historical data.
• Contribute to budget mapping and ensure fiscal responsibility across the department.
• Identify drivers of variance and suggest mitigation actions.
• Synthesize datasets into clear narratives for leadership.
