Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Project Cost Controls Analyst to deliver data-driven financial and strategic analysis across projects. This fully remote role requires periodic travel up to 25% and involves forecasting, variance analyses, and executive-ready reporting.

You will partner with project managers and field teams to build forecasts, monitor cost drivers, and implement cost controls that support SOX compliance and continuous improvement across our nationwide solar, storage, and substation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or related analytical field.
• 1–3 years of experience in project controls, FP&A, or data-driven roles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Power BI, Python, and/or SQL is highly preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a structured approach to modeling and interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain project-level cost forecasts with project managers and field operations.
• Monitor changes in assumptions, identify cost drivers, risks and opportunities.
• Lead monthly cost reporting with variance analyses for executive reviews.
• Develop internal controls to ensure SOX compliance.
• Implement analytics models to forecast future project costs from historical data.
• Assist with the budget mapping process across the department.
• Analyze project performance trends and key variance drivers across cost and schedule.
• Conduct root-cause analyses and inform mitigation actions.
• Create cost-tracking and reporting systems for accurate operational reporting.
• Collaborate with project teams to gather data and provide trend insights.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
• Translate data into executive-ready decks with clear recommendations.
