Remote Project Accountant: Path to Finance Leadership

Job summary

TalentBridge is seeking a Project Accountant for a remote-friendly role serving Charlotte, NC area. This position blends general ledger and month-end close duties with project accounting, WIP reporting, and job costing across multiple projects.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's in Accounting and 3–5+ years of accounting experience, including GAAP and project-based accounting. Travel is required about 2–4 days per month, with growth toward leadership in finance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• 3–5+ years of accounting or finance experience including general ledger and month-end close
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and percentage-of-completion/project accounting
• Construction, infrastructure, field services, or other project-based accounting experience preferred
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; NetSuite or comparable ERP experience preferred
• CPA and/or MBA preferred but not required
• Willingness to travel approximately 2–4 days per month

Responsibilities

• Support the monthly close process including journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and schedules.
• Prepare and analyze WIP schedules, job cost reports, project budgets, and actual-to-forecast results.
• Partner with Finance and Operations leadership to review project performance and profitability.
• Support project setup, contract review, change orders, and percentage-of-completion revenue recognition.
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and improve processes and reporting accuracy.
• Monitor inventory and construction activity to support accurate job costing and WIP reporting.
• Assist with annual audit requirements including balance sheet and income statement schedules.
• Contribute to improvements in accounting systems, reporting tools, and processes across Corporate and Operational Finance
