Qualifications

• High School Equivalency Diploma required.
• Certifications CPC, COC or CCS-P required.
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience as certified coder.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret complex clinical documentation to assign appropriate ICD-10-CM and CPT codes for physician and outpatient services.
• Ensure coding accuracy and compliance with official guidelines, payer rules, and regulatory requirements.
• Analyze coding and documentation discrepancies and collaborate with providers for clarification when needed.
• Resolve coding-related denials, edits, and rejections to support clean claim submission.
• Meet or exceed department productivity and accuracy standards.
• Participate in internal audits and assist in maintaining high audit readiness.
• Serve as a resource for junior coders and provide mentoring or informal training.
