Qualifications

• High School Equivalency Diploma is required.
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Outpatient Coder (COC) or CCS-P required.
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience as a certified coder.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret complex clinical documentation to assign ICD-10-CM, CPT codes for physician and outpatient services.
• Ensure coding accuracy and compliance with guidelines, payer rules and regulatory requirements.
• Analyze coding discrepancies and collaborate with providers for clarification when needed.
• Resolve coding-related denials and aid in clean claim submission.
• Meet or exceed department productivity and accuracy standards.
• Participate in internal audits and assist in maintaining audit readiness.
• Serve as a resource for junior coders; mentor or training support and stay updated with coding changes.
• Other duties as assigned.
