Job summary

Managed Resources, Inc. is seeking a ProFee Surgery Coder to code CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM, Modifiers, and units from medical records in a remote environment.

This role helps improve client success by ensuring accurate, compliant coding while care is still in progress. It strengthens revenue integrity, reduces denials, accelerates reimbursement, and improves documentation quality. You’ll work with a collaborative team and use Epic and other EMR systems.

Qualifications

• Current CPC or CCS-P credential required with at least 5 years certified.
• 5+ years of experience abstracting CPT, E/M, HCPCS and ICD-10-CM codes.
• Experience coding surgery: general, orthopedics, neurology, cardiology and anesthesia.
• Extensive knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to research and apply coding rules and regulations.
• Experience data-entry of codes into EMR or databases.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, and EMR systems including Epic.
• Excellent oral and written communication; positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Meet client turnaround times for completing work.
• Meet or exceed minimum productivity standards.
• Maintain 95% accuracy on quality reviews.
• Abstract all E/M, CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM, modifiers, units from documentation.
• Enter data into client software and/or Excel reports.
• Evaluate overall quality of physician documentation for quality improvement.
• Perform accurate coding using applicable guidelines and client protocols.
• Communicate with client/providers for clarification or missing documentation.
• Communicate with Project Manager regarding schedule and workload.
• Track and enter time accurately into timekeeping system.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and privacy in handling data.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and standards related to health information.
• Other duties as assigned.
