Qualifications

• Must have any one of the coding certifications at time of hire.
• One-three years experience as a coder required.
• Experience with an encoder preferred.

Responsibilities

• Codes inpatient/outpatient hospital records for reimbursement.
• Maintains a 95% accuracy rate.
• Responsible for resolving pre-bill edits and denials.

Skills

Coding multiple areas of service

Computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Knowledge of ICD-9/10 CM and CPT-4 coding

Education

High school diploma/GED

Coding certification (HCS-D, CCS, etc.)
