Job summary

UASI is seeking an experienced Coding Auditor to join our HIM consulting team, working remotely from a home office in the United States. Responsibilities include auditing a variety of record types (E/M, CPT, hospitalist, pro-fee) across multiple specialties and researching coding guidelines to support clients.

The ideal candidate has AHIMA or AAPC certification and 2–5 years of experience in E/M audits, with strong communication skills and proficiency with EMR systems.

Qualifications

• AHIMA or AAPC certification.
• 2-5 years’ minimum experience performing E/M audits and reviews.
• Ability to remain impartial and objective in presenting audit findings.
• Strong computer skills including EMR systems and HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Perform coding audits and reviews on professional fee records including E/M, surgical CPT, hospitalist, annual well visits, inpatient/outpatient pro-fee.
• Audit multiple specialties such as Primary Care, ENT, Nephrology, Urology, Cardiology, Neurology, OB/GYN, Behavioral Health, Ophthalmology, Endocrinology.
• Research guidelines and regulatory documents to support audit findings (Official Coding Guidelines, Medicare/Medicaid Manuals, OIG guidance).
• Assist in designing and presenting educational seminars to clients and staff.
• Contribute to senior level HIM projects: tool development, staff education, and coding content creation.
