Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an experienced Professional Fee coder to support Surgical Trauma, Plastic Surgery, and Orthopedic Hand Surgery providers. The role focuses on CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS coding, modifier use, and accurate reimbursement while interpreting operative reports.

You will work remotely with strong productivity and quality expectations, leveraging EMR systems and encoder software to deliver precise coding results.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of Professional Fee (ProFee) coding experience.
• Active coding certification through AAPC or AHIMA.
• Current RHIT, RHIA, CPC, COC, CCS-P, CCS, CEDC, or equivalent coding credential.
• Experience coding for Surgical Trauma, Plastic Surgery, Orthopedic Hand Surgery.

Responsibilities

• Code professional fee procedures with CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS, applying modifiers and appropriate NCCI edits.
• Review operative reports and coding of surgical procedures for reimbursement, ensuring documentation compliance.
• Maintain high quality and productivity while working in a fully remote environment.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of Professional Fee (ProFee) coding experience.
• Active coding certification through AAPC or AHIMA.
• Current RHIT, RHIA, CPC, COC, CCS-P, CCS, CEDC, or equivalent coding credential.
• Recent hands-on Professional Fee coding experience within the last 3-5 years supporting one or more of the following specialties:
• Surgical Trauma
• Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
• Orthopedic Hand Surgery
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, modifiers, NCCI edits, and payer-specific coding guidelines.
• Demonstrated experience assigning accurate procedure, diagnosis, and E/M codes based on provider documentation.
• Experience reviewing operative reports and coding surgical procedures for professional fee reimbursement.
• Ability to interpret complex surgical documentation and apply appropriate coding and modifier usage.
• Experience working in a fully remote environment with strong productivity and quality standards.
• Proficiency with EMR systems and encoder software.
• Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
