Block Labs is hiring an AI Engineer to build production-grade agents and the data platform that powers real-time decisions. You will own the data and agent stack, from model signals to governance and dashboards, with a focus on reliability, security, and auditable outputs.

The role emphasizes building SLAs around models, retrieval, and memory, collaborating with teams across AI, BI, and Infrastructure while operating in a remote, asynchronous environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in software, data science, or ML engineering.
• Production-grade ML systems experience with LLM-powered agents.
• Strong Python for production services; comfortable with TypeScript for surfaces.
• Experience grounding, retrieval, and memory in production systems.

Responsibilities

• Build and deploy analyst and customer-facing AI agents with governed SQL over analytical warehouses.
• Develop ML models and signals used by the decision engine and agents.
• Own dashboards and surfaces; ensure observable, auditable outputs for stakeholders.
• Defend against prompt injection, data leakage, and tool misuse; maintain security and compliance.
