Job summary

Modern Health is seeking a Security Engineer to join the ProdSec team. You will help protect user privacy by championing secure development, automated defenses, and robust threat modeling across our health-tech platform.

You will collaborate with engineering and product teams, implement secure coding standards, and drive risk reduction through proactive security initiatives in a fast-paced, fully remote US environment.

Qualifications

• Hands-on with vulnerability management, secure code review, threat modeling, and security tooling.
• Experience with AWS cloud posture, IAM, network segmentation, and secure CI/CD practices.
• Scripting skills in Python and/or Bash; ability to automate security tasks and workflows.

Responsibilities

• Analyze security vulnerabilities in web and mobile apps; determine risk levels and coordinate remediations with engineering teams.
• Research product threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation techniques relevant to health tech.
• Integrate security across SDLC; promote secure development practices and agile delivery.
• Develop cost-effective security solutions for complex challenges.
• Deploy and manage security tooling (SAST, DAST, Vault, etc.).
• Lead threat modeling for new features and evolving services; identify risks early.
• Conduct secure code reviews on services built with modern frameworks and tech stacks.
